What to Expect / FAQs

What to Expect

Whole Body Cryotherapy is a new and innovative service which uses a state-of-the-art CryoChamber to expose your body to cold temperatures and stimulate its natural responses, resulting in many significant benefits.

At N2Cryo, we believe in giving you the best cryotherapy experience possible. Upon arrival you will be greeted by one of our certified assistants, and they will answer any questions you may have. We will have you read and sign a waiver, and show you to a CryoChamber room.

Your assistant will show you the “Ready” Bell, provide a robe; a pair of clean, dry gloves & socks; and a pair of slippers, and exit the room.

When your assistant leaves, you will remove all clothing and jewelry and put on the provided protective clothing. Men must wear cotton underwear or boxers, as you will need the extra protection.

Once you are in your protective clothing, ring the “READY” bell. Your assistant will come back into the room, you will step into the CryoChamber, and your cryo assistant will lift you to the appropriate level, take your robe and turn on the CryoChamber. Your assistant will remain with you throughout the experience. Many clients like to talk their way through the session with their assistant, others prefer to listen to music. You will feel cold, but you will not freeze. You may instantly feel the effects of the CryoChamber relieving any aches or pains you may have, and after a 2-3 minute conversation, your time is done.
Once the machine turns off, your assistant will hand you your robe and leave the room. As you exit the CryoChamber, your body instantly warms back up to regular temperature. Remove and drop the protective clothing in the appropriate bin, dress and exit the room.

You should notice the immediate benefits of your session as you leave the room. Your energy level should be elevated, any pain should be drastically reduced or temporarily eliminated. The benefits from this natural service will keep you coming back.

Your privacy is very important to us. We only see your face, as the rest of your body will be inside the CryoChamber. However, if you need help entering or exiting the CryoChamber please alert your assistant, and arrangements can be made to help you.

Harvey Singh and his first time freezing!

Simply click on the + button below to get the answer to some of our most frequently asked questions.

How does this compare to an ice bath?

It doesn’t. It is simply not possible to achieve the same temperatures and effect with an ice bath. Furthermore, an ice bath is generally an excruciating 12-15 minutes or longer wet process, where cryotherapy is only a 2½ to 3 minute completely dry session.

Has cryotherapy been tested?

Researchers and providers in Europe have been developing and refining cryotherapy for more than thirty years.

How many times can I get cryotherapy in a day?

We recommend no more than two times a day, and only then if you are in heavy training. Otherwise, a consistent regiment of two or three times a week is adequate for most people.

Do I have to take a shower before and/or after the therapy?

No. Cryotherapy is an absolutely dry process and does not make your skin wet.

Can I catch a cold because of whole body cryotherapy?

Immediate cold impact of the cryotherapy session will raise the internal body temperature for a short period of time (around 30-40 sec). This rise has a positive effect on chills and may help to fight the cold.

I am claustrophobic. Will I feel comfortable in the CryoChamber?

Yes. The door is never locked and you can step out at any moment. Also, the base inside the cabin is adjusted to your height, ensuring your head is above and outside the cabin at all times.

How can anybody endure the cold and how do I feel after?

The process only involves hyper-cooled air flowing over the surface of the skin, so the process never freezes any skin tissues or organs. The result is only a “feeling” of being cold. During each session endorphins, or the body’s natural “feel good” substance, are released. The buoyant effects from each session lasts approximately six hours.

Is nitrogen gas dangerous to human beings?

Please Note: The air we breathe every day is made up of 16% Oxygen, 1% Hydrogen, 78% Nitrogen and 5% of other components. The client in the cryotherapy chamber does not breathe in gasiform air or nitrogen gas. The client is elevated above the chamber from the chin up and breathing clean oxygen. This is ensured by proper ventilation and verified by an oxygen sensor at all times.
